
Citrus kicked off the evening with their spirited offering of captivating melody accompanied by intricate guitar patterns. Leading lady Jess delivered a notable cover of Radiohead’s Creep sandwiched between pop-rock single Tragedy which got feet tapping and held listeners to witness some intense shredding from lead guitarist George. The group presented the audience with an upbeat and vibrant set that charmed those watching before their upcoming supporting gig at The Bodega on the 18th of October.
Citrus, a 4 piece up-and-coming band straight out of NTU's own Confetti academy of music, take influences from the likes of Suede, Wolf Alice and Radiohead to create a unique and unmissable sound that is an utter joy to hear live. The upbeat, feelgood, euphoric, other words for nice, Indie they'll play to open up the night never fails to please the ears. They are soon to be releasing a new track. you won't want miss seeing these live!

[Peaness] were supported by Citrus, a band with soaring vocals and guitars over shoulders and heads, resulting in an animated set. Tonight, they were missing their usual drummer Isaac, so Tom was admirably filling in, and the second vocalist and guitarist brought depth to the songs that sometimes is lacking in bands. It worked brilliantly, and the most memorable moment of their set was the track Fruit Machine.
The fruity tunes of Nottingham’s own Citrus supported, projecting vibrance and energetic indie-rock upon the crowd. The absence of their drummer Isaac was deemed not an issue, as they excelled in producing a lively set. I have seen these guys a few times and they always deliver catchy guitar riffs, and if you’re lucky, you might catch George playing his guitar behind his head with a chaotic air. The band debuted their new song, and balanced crowd participation with a chatty and favourable set.
